Special REDOX (Reduction of Oxidation) media in its own enclosed chamber removes 95% of the chlorine as it enters the system.
CARBON
This granular activated carbon is formulated to remove the remainder of chlorine, organics, THM's, musty and/or earthy odors. Unlike other softening units with carbon, the IROCS carbon will last many years longer (because the chlorine does NOT ) have a deleterious effect upon it since the majority of the chlorine is removed by the KDF-55 REDOX media.
